Scarecrows in the Garden
Presented by Palmetto Parent, our annual Scarecrows in the Garden exhibit features an array of scarecrows on display in our gardens from October 1 to November 2. From wacky and scary to traditional and historical, enjoy viewing handcrafted scarecrows from local businesses, organizations, youth groups, individuals and families. Take a leisurely stroll through our historic gardens, vote for your favorite scarecrow, participate in a scavenger hunt and help us find Sneaky Steve, our missing scarecrow.

The Palladium Society's Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ
Each fall, The Palladium Society brings great music, delicious food and the best silent auction in Columbia together in an historic setting at Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ. Items up for bid include vacation packages, shopping deals, tickets to local performances and more! This year's Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ marks The Palladium Society's 11th annual silent auction and will he held on Thursday, October 23 at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home.
The Palladium Society's Annual Chili Cook-Off
Do you love a bowl of “Famously Hot” chili? Cold beer? Great live music? Then join Historic Columbia each spring at The Palladium Society’s annual Chili Cook-Off at the State Fairgrounds. One of HC's most popular events, the Chili Cook-Off is hosted by The Palladium Society and features a variety of chili recipes, judging by local celebrities, live music and prizes for the winners. The date for the 2015 Chili Cook-Off will be announced this summer.
Jubilee: Festival of Heritage
Celebrating the rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit of a local family, the Jubilee: Festival of Heritage is held annually in August on the grounds of the historic Mann-Simons Site. Jubilee features a variety of activities including hands-on demonstrations from some of the region’s most skilled artists and craftsmen, musical entertainment including African drumming, R&B, jazz, and gospel, and vendors with African-influenced and traditional merchandise. Highlights of the festival also include tours of the Mann-Simons Site, African-American heritage sites tours, and many other activities throughout the day. The 37th annual Jubilee: Festival of Heritage will be held in 2015, so stay tuned to our calendar for more details.
