Historic Columbia Presents Palladium Society's Silent Auction & Wine Tasting

(Columbia, SC) - Taste great wine, eat great hors d'oeuvres, mingle with friends and then outbid them for great gifts at the Palladium Society's Silent Auction & Wine Tasting Friday, November 12, 2004 from 7 - 10 p.m. The silent auction will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. followed by live music by The Tony Torre Trio, wine tasting and the announcement of the winners. This fundraising event will be hosted in the former Shearings Building, 912 Lady Street, located in the Vista behind Willy's and next to City Art. Tickets are $30 per person, $50 per couple and can be purchased by calling 803.252.7742 ext. 22.

  • Autographed helmet by Lou Holtz
  • Corporate Box at the Colonial Center
  • Dinner for two at Mr. Friendly's
  • Day at a spa
  • Local artwork
  • Autographed football by USC football team
  • Weekend getaway at Edisto Beach

"The silent auction and wine tasting will be a great opportunity for young professionals interested in the preservation and education of our city's history," Chris Brownlee, Palladium Society Chair said. "Through this evening of entertainment, we can help raise awareness and funds for Historic Columbia."

Palladium Society
Established as a way for young professionals to be involved with Historic Columbia, the Palladium Society is a group of individuals helping forward Historic Columbia's mission through fundraisers and social events. Through events such as the Chili Cook-Off, Wine Tasting Socials, Silent Auctions and various other fundraising opportunities, the society plays an intricate part in creating awareness for the organization.

Historic Columbia was founded in 1961 by a group of preservationists determined to save the Ainsley Hall House, known today as the Robert Mills House. More than four decades later Historic Columbia now manages four historic house museums and their associated artifacts. Through programs of advocacy, education and preservation, Historic Columbia protects, supports and nurtures the historical and cultural heritage of Columbia, South Carolina.
