Scarecrows in the Garden Contest

Historic Columbia Foundation invites families, community groups, businesses, and individuals to enter its “Scarecrows in the Garden” contest and exhibit. Participants are asked to enter fun, wild, wacky, or scary scarecrows by Friday, September 25. Historic Columbia Foundation will showcase all scarecrows from October 1 – October 31 at the Robert Mills House and Garden, 1616 Blanding Street.

Scarecrow entries are $20 each. Groups or individuals are welcome to enter more than one scarecrow. Visitors can view the scarecrow exhibit Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Community leaders will select the best scarecrow and the public is encouraged to vote for the “Peoples Choice Award” until noon on Saturday, October 31st when winners are announced. Prizes include cash, trophies, and gift certificates.
