Hampton-Preston Mansion & Gardens

1615 Blanding Street Columbia, SC 29201

( Get Directions )

What could be more charming than holding your wedding reception, party, or celebration on the grounds of a Columbia landmark that epitomizes the lifestyle of the planter-elite in antebellum South Carolina? The grounds of the circa-1818 Hampton-Preston Mansion, once home to some of Columbia’s most socially notable families for over fifty years, can be the venue for your next memorable event. The Hampton-Preston Mansion remains today thanks to the efforts of Sister Baptista Lynch, who saved the building from destruction during the Civil War in 1865, and activists who turned the historic property into a house museum in 1970.
