Frequently Asked Questions

In October 2025, Historic Columbia launched an enhanced ticketing and membership platform. This page is designed to better help you understand its features and navigate the system with ease.

Creating an Account or Logging In

How do I create an account? 

To purchase tickets or memberships, it is recommended that you create an account.

  • Visit the Create An Account page (can be accessed by clicking the 👤 person icon).
  • Enter an email or phone number to which a verification code will be sent.
  • Once verified, enter your account details.
Am I required to create an account? 

No, you may make purchases as a guest. However, it is highly recommended that you create an account to conveniently manage your bookings.

How do I login to an existing account?  

Visit the Sign in page to login to an existing account.

  • It is required that you verify the login phone number or email address; this system does not use passwords.
  • View account details by clicking the 👤 person icon to access your account (located in the top right on desktop or bottom right on mobile).
Can I save a method of payment to my account?

Yes, saving a payment method to your account makes securing tickets to your favorite tours and events a breeze!

Purchasing Tickets

How do I purchase tickets to a Historic House Museum tour?

Visit our ticketing page to see each tour offering.

  • Once you select the tour you wish to take, the Select a Date feature will automatically select the next available tour date.
  • Looking to schedule farther in advance? Click the calendar icon to see a monthly view.
How do I purchase tickets to a specialty program or event?

Direct ticketing links are available on the events page, however, you can stay within the ticketing platform to add additional tickets to your cart. 

  • Click on either Home or Products from the ticketing header to see all available event tickets.
  • The Select a Date feature will automatically select the next available date. If the program has multiple dates, such as Birdwatching in the Gardens, click the calendar icon to see a monthly view and find future dates.
I purchased my tickets, now what?

You will receive a confirmation email for your upcoming tour or event. In addition, those details will be emailed to you again one to two days beforehand. 

Can I reschedule my historic house museum tour?

Yes. Historic house museum tours and Birdwatching in the Gardens may be rescheduled up to two days in advance. Historic house museum tour tickets are not refundable.

  • When logged in to your account, go to My tickets, and find the booking you wish to manage.
  • Select Edit booking to reschedule.
  • If you do not see the Edit booking button, this means it is either too close to your tour to reschedule or you have selected a ticket that cannot be rescheduled.

Memberships

Why does each membership level have four different options?

Each level (Individual, Household, etc.) offers two different payment options: one year (single payment) or automatic renewal (recurring payment). 

  • One year means your membership benefits will be removed 365 days after your membership purchase. Your account will still exist.
  • Automatic renewal means the card saved to your account will be charged 365 days after your membership purchase. You will receive notification emails prior to this charge.

In addition, each level (Individual, Household, etc.) offers memberships with or without the Palladium add-on. For a $25 add-on to any membership level, you can become a Palladium member and receive the following benefits in addition to all the other Historic Columbia membership benefits:

  • Additional discounts on Palladium events
  • Free admission to Renovation Rodeos
  • Networking opportunities at happy hours and mixers

Redeeming Member Benefits 

Can I buy a membership and redeem member ticketing benefits in the same transaction?  

No. You must purchase the membership first to trigger your member discounts.

Why don't I see a member discount ticket type? 

Discounts are now linked directly your account and are applied at checkout. To redeem discounts:

  • Please be sure to log in using your membership account.
  • Add the desired tickets to your cart.
  • Discounts will be applied at checkout based on the level of your membership.
  • If the popup like the one seen in the image below does not appear, you need to log in to your membership account!

Can I upgrade my purchase to a membership?  

Yes, tickets to our Historic House Museums may be credited toward the purchase of a membership if done at the Welcome Center immediately before or after your tour. No specialty program or event tickets can be upgraded to a membership.
