Free for both CMA and HC Members or with Admission

Attend

The Columbia Museum of Art : 1515 Main St., Columbia, SC 29202

Thomas L. Johnson and Phillip C. Dunn received a 1987 Lillian Smith Book Award for their work on A True Likeness: The Black South of Richard Samuel Roberts 1920-1936, showcasing the extraordinary photography of Columbia’s own Richard Samuel Roberts. In celebration of the book’s new edition, join us and USC Press for a panel discussion of Roberts and the importance of his work in South Carolina’s history. Panelists include Dunn, Johnson, Historic Columbia’s Research and Archives Manager Katharine Allen, and other guests. Facilitated by CMA Director of Education and Engagement Jackie Adams. Followed by a book signing. Books for sale at the CMA Shop on day of event.
