Elmwood Park Walking Tour

Tour begins at Village Church Downtown Campus : 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201

UPDATE (March 14,2025): EVENT POSTPONED—Due to forecasted severe storms on Sunday, the tour has been postponed to Saturday, March 22. We will open up additional tickets for the March 22 tour by March 19 should any become available.

 

Join Historic Columbia for a stroll through the Elmwood Park neighborhood. Established in 1904 as a suburb of Columbia, Elmwood Park stands today as one of the city's most architecturally intact neighborhoods. Participants will learn about different architectural forms and some of the notable residents who once called this neighborhood home. The tour will last approximately 75 minutes and begin and end at Roy Lynch Park, located at 900 Abbeville Street.

  • Tickets

    Only 20 tickets are available. Online ticket sales end on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., and no walk-up tickets are available. 

    HC member: $5 
    Non-member: $10 
    Youth 17 and under: Free 

  • Parking

    Free street parking is available on the streets surrounding Village Church. Please be mindful of residents’ driveways. This tour includes standing and walking several blocks on neighborhood sidewalks.

  • Refunds

    This tour will take place rain or shine. However, if there are thunderstorms in the neighborhood the tour will be canceled, and you will be contacted at the email address with which you register to receive either a refund or a ticket for a future walking tour. If the tour proceeds as planned, no refunds will be offered.
