Savage Craft Ale Works : 430 Center Street, West Columbia, SC 29169

Join Palladium for Pints for Preservation, the happy hour series that pairs great beer with great stories—all inside some of the most unique historic spaces in Columbia. Grab a local craft brew, unwind with friends old and new, and learn a bit about the history that makes our city unique. Each ticket includes a complimentary beverage, light bites, and a short presentation on the venue's history led by Palladium Board members and site representatives. Best of all, every pour supports Historic Columbia’s mission to preserve and share our community’s past.

This month, we’re taking the fun across the river to Savage Craft Ale Works in West Columbia. Housed within two restored historic structures, the former 1925 Brookland Fire Station & City Hall and the circa-1908 New Brookland Jail, Savage Craft blends rich history with a vibrant and modern atmosphere. Today, the old armory has become a lively event space, the fire station is home to the taproom and offices, and the former jail now serves up bites straight from its kitchen. All three buildings are part of the National Register–listed New Brookland Historic District, making this one of the most distinctive brewery settings in the Midlands.
