Join us in the lush gardens of the Hampton-Preston Mansion for the 2026 Spring Plant Sale!

A wide array of plants including heirloom flowers, shrubs, vegetables, and perennials, all grown in Historic Columbia’s gardens, will be available to our members before the public sale. With many rare or hard-to-find varieties and our horticulture experts on-site to share growing tips and recommendations, this plant sale will elevate your garden to historic heights! Don’t miss this opportunity to refresh your garden and connect with fellow green thumbs and Historic Columbia staff. A list of available plants will be posted below prior to the event. 

Become a Historic Columbia member at any level to gain admission to this exclusive members-only preview sale from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026. 

The sale will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, and 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

From March 24 – April 4, enjoy exclusive early access to a curated selection of historic and native plants—handpicked from our gardens to thrive in yours! Check your March member email or April newsletter for more details.

New this year! Members can choose from three unique heirloom bundles. Each bundle includes five carefully selected plants to suit your summer garden goals. Bundles are available exclusively through member pre-sale and are $20 per bundle. Make sure to check out page 29 of the Plant Sale List for more details!

  • Parking

    There is free street parking located around the Hampton-Preston Mansion. Please obey all posted parking signs. 

    Following your purchase, the back entrance on Laurel Street may be used to load your vehicle.

  • Weather

    In the event of rain or inclement weather, the Spring Plant Sale will be held in the Boyd Foundation Horticultural Center, located at the rear of the Hampton-Preston Mansion Gardens.

  • Gardens

    Our gardens are open for visitation all week long! Check here for more details.
