On Thursday, May 14, 2026, join Historic Columbia in celebrating 50 years of honoring preservation excellence in the capital city. This year's celebration will be bigger than ever, taking place at Columbia's newest event space and winner of a 2025 Preservation Award, The Laundry at BullStreet.
Since 1976, Historic Columbia has celebrated the people and projects that preserve the stories and character of Richland County. Over the years, 276 recipients have been recognized for helping to maintain and enhance the community’s rich historical, architectural, and cultural heritage.
The 50 Forward Preservation Awards begins with the awards ceremony at 4:30 p.m., followed by a gala celebration at 5:30 p.m. featuring delicious food, refreshing beverages, and live music.
Please note that the award ceremony is reserved for award recipients and sponsors. Gala tickets will be available in early 2026. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those interested in attending the awards ceremony.
