Trunk or Treat

Robert Mills House : 1616 Blanding St., Columbia, SC 29201

Historic Columbia’s Trunk or Treat, presented by Legacy Traditional Schools, returns Monday, October 26, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. Put on your costume and join us for a safe, fun and FREE Halloween experience for the whole family. Community members and local organizations throughout the city of Columbia will meet on the grounds of Robert Mills House to pass out candy to local Columbia kids, and DJ Roy Neptune will be there playing family-friendly music to keeping the party going!

The costume contest returns this year, with prizes awarded in the following categories: ages 0–5, 6–10, 10+, and group costumes. The contest will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the DJ booth. Don’t forget to check out the fun games and activities at the Robert Mills Carriage House!

  • Want to Participate?

Historic Columbia will be accepting applications for business and organizations to place a decorated vehicle or table at the event. This is a great opportunity for businesses and organizations to promote their mission, give away branded merchandise, and hand out candy to hundreds of children at a free community event.  It is free to register.

  • Parking

Street parking is available on Blanding, Henderson, and Pickens streets. Please follow all posted parking signs. Entry to the event will be via the Blanding Street gate.

  • Accessibility

Historic Columbia is committed to providing a welcoming experience for all visitors. Because our historic properties were built in the 19th century, some accessibility limitations exist. This event takes place across the grounds and gardens of the Robert Mills House, which includes grass and gravel pathways. The Historic Columbia Welcome Center will also be giving out candy and has a small step at the entrance. Please contact us in advance to discuss accessibility concerns.

  • Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, this program will be rescheduled to Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Please pay attention to HC's Facebook and Instagram for up-to-date information.
