Dutch Colonial Style House
Architecture revival styles of the early 20th century drew their inspiration from a wide variety of earlier design movements. A category of the Colonial Revival style, Dutch Colonial Revival houses, such as this 1925 residence built by William E. Hollowell, featured a highly distinctive barn-like or gambrel roofline. Noteworthy among neighboring houses of architectural distinction, this property is among a number of this style erected within many of Columbia's early suburbs.
