Gardens of the Woodrow Wilson Family Home

Gardens of the Woodrow Wilson Family Home

History

South Carolina's only presidential site, this distinctive circa-1871 Italian villa-style residence was home to a 14-year-old boy named "Tommy" Woodrow Wilson. The Woodrow Wilson Family Home was completed in 1872 and was the boyhood home of Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of the United States. The house was closed in 2005 for a multiphase, comprehensive rehabilitation, including brand new bathrooms and prep kitchen space, and re-opened to the public in February of 2014.

The Gardens of the Woodrow Wilson Home are an intimate green escape, ideal for smaller ceremonies or receptions.

Please note that a rental of this property is a gardens-only space, the house is a museum and not available for events.
