Johnson Wedding

Evan and Jermaine Johnson reaffirmed their commitment to forever at the Seibels House & Garden on August 24, 2018.

This beautiful couple had already married on this day six years earlier, but never threw themselves the wedding they so deserved. We’re so glad they chose the timeless Seibels House as the backdrop for their vow renewal and reception on their sixth anniversary!

The first chapter of their Historically Ever After began at the College of Charleston, where the future couple met. This is also where they met their future wedding party. Jermaine’s Best Man was his Fraternity brother in Phi Beta Sigma and others were his college basketball teammates. Evan’s bridesmaids were a mix of childhood friends, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority sisters, and friends from Presbyterian College’s Pharmacy School. It’s so beautiful to see friendships stand the test of time and blossom into support systems for one of the biggest days of your life!

The morning of the wedding began with Evan and her bridal party getting ready in the spacious upstairs bridal suite with Sarah and Co. We adore the timeless feel of this wedding, with classic lace details featured on Evan’s veil and her perfect dress! Even her bridesmaids and mother dressed in delicate blush lace. Meanwhile, Jermaine and his crew fastened handsome navy suits and bowties. Their white rose boutonnieres matched the bridesmaids’ white hydrangea bouquets.

Johnson WeddingDownstairs, Your Signature Events and Avila Dawn Events worked tirelessly to transform the Seibels House into a functional but magical space in gorgeous shades of blush and navy. Little gold details and flickering faux candles added intimacy to the already-cozy home. Delicate white hydrangeas and stunning pink roses (a timeless symbol of love and passion) were featured on the tables, mantles, ceremony chairs and even in Evan’s gorgeous bouquet. Once all the decorating was done, it was time for the ceremony to begin.

Be it from the harsh August sun or from love’s glow, this day was particularly warm! But, thanks to Something Borrowed, the Johnsons’ guests were comfortable during the ceremony beneath a sturdy tent. Evan and Jermaine’s adorable daughter served as the flower girl, setting the path for her mother to be walked down the aisle by her own mother. At the altar, Jermaine’s groomsmen held photographs of his older brother and best friend, who tragically passed away before they could see him take this big step in his life. This touching tribute while the couple renewed their vows shows just how much love this group of people had for one another. After the emotional ceremony, it was time to head inside for the reception.

A delicious spread from Scott Hall Catering and refreshing beverages from the JW group got the party going! The Johnsons had a front row seat to the dance floor at their head table in the Grand Room. DJ B-Sam played the couple’s favorite hits and got everyone moving. At the end of the night, Evan and Jermaine cut their classic 2-tier white wedding cake from Vintage Bakery in the foyer (check out those lace decorations)!
