Stone Manufacturing : 3452 N. Main St., Columbia, SC 29203

Join Historic Columbia from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 as we explore the future Peak Drift Brewery- a 65,000-square-foot brewery and entertainment complex located in the heart of Columbia's North Main District. Set to open to the public in 2023, the complex will include a state-of-the-art 20 hectoliter brewhouse, expansive bar, full restaurant and dining, indoor and outdoor spaces, entertainment options, a sports complex, a members-only gym, and more. To pull off this impactful project, Peak Drift assembled a project team with deep expertise in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, including Lambert Architects, Mashburn Construction, and Rogers and Lewis Attorneys at Law. Book your tickets today to be one of the firsts to experience this brewery concept unlike any other.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
Peak Drift Brewing Co. is located in the former Stone Manufacturing Company manufacturing facility, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1946-47, the building housed Greenville-based Stone Manufacturing, and eventually became one of the most successful apparel companies in the world. Stone Manufacturing produced the popular Umbro clothing line until the sale of the line in 1997. Despite remaining vacant for years, the building, made of concrete block and washed brick veneer with a barrel roof, retains much of its historic integrity and continues to represent the evolution of Stone Manufacturing from a small, local company into an international success. The industrial building is locally significant because it represents an example of a garment manufacturing facility, an important element of the city’s diversified industrial growth after World War II.

ABOUT PEAK DRIFT BREWING CO.
Peak Drift Brewing Co. was founded in 2021 by siblings and co-owners, Greg Middleton and Sara Middleton Styles, who are committed to bringing a fresh, new concept to the craft brewing industry. Peak Drift produces high-quality, award-winning craft beers, hard seltzers, hard ciders and non-alcoholic beverages inspired by the many landscapes found in the Southeastern states. Certified Master Brewer, Ashley Kinart-Short, is one of only a few female master brewers in the nation and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and of course, great taste to the region. Peak Drift beverages are currently available at its microbrewery located in Columbia’s latest fine-dining restaurant, Smoked. Large-scale production will begin at the brewery facility in the North Main district late 2022, with the brewery opening its doors to the public in 2023. Peak Drift beverages will launch in select Columbia, S.C. retailers by the end of 2022 — with expansion into other geographical markets nationwide, beginning in 2023.

In addition to the private tour, guests will enjoy light appetizers, drinks, and snacks. Tickets are $35 for Palladium members, $40 for Historic Columbia members, and $50 for non-members. Join or renew your membership today to receive your discounted access to this exclusive Behind the Scenes Tour.
