Congaree Vista Walking Tour

Tour begins at the First Responder monument : 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Join Historic Columbia for a stroll through the Congaree Vista, an area comprised of almost 800 acres. Once a bustling cotton warehouse and railroad district, today’s Vista is a bustling entertainment district that features architecturally significant buildings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Participants will learn about buildings along the 700-1000 blocks of Gervais and the people and businesses who made this corridor a center of commerce over a century ago. The tour will last approximately 75 minutes and begin and end outside of the Convention Center (please meet in front of the First Responder monument).

  • Tickets

    Only 20 tickets are available. Online ticket sales end on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

    HC member: $5 
    Non-member: $10 
    Youth 17 and under: Free

  • Parking

    Metered parking spaces are free on Sundays. Visitors may also use the parking garage located at 1007 Park Street (ticketed) or the surface parking lot at 1040 Gervais Street (pay kiosk). Keep in mind that this tour includes standing and walking approximately eight blocks on downtown sidewalks. The tour begins at the First Responder monument outside of the Columbia Convention Center.

  • Refunds

    This tour will take place rain or shine. However, if there are thunderstorms in the neighborhood the tour will be canceled, and you will be contacted to receive either a refund or a ticket for a future Walking Tour. If the tour proceeds as planned, no refunds will be offered.
