Join the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina and Historic Columbia for a book signing celebrating the launch of Kugels & Collards, a lively collection of South Carolina Jewish stories and special family recipes. In this book, authors Rachel Gordin Barnett and Lyssa Kligman Harvey explore the food history, traditions, and memories of Jews in South Carolina, building on their blog of the same title.  

Guests will be treated to a tasting using recipes from the book, and will enjoy a meet & greet with the authors and book contributors.  

Pre-ordered books will be available for pickup at event check-in, and will also be available for purchase at the event while supplies last. Kugels & Collards is published by University of South Carolina Press.

    Tickets are $75 and required to attend the event. Books purchased online will be delivered at the event. A limited number of books will also be available for purchase at the event.

  • About Kugels & Collards

    Kugels and Collards™ explores South Carolina’s Jewish history through the lens of food and memory. What began as a blog in 2017 to highlight a lively collection of South Carolina Jewish stories and special family recipes will be released as a book this August 29. In Kugels and Collards, authors Rachel Barnett and Lyssa Harvey explore the food history, traditions, and memories of Jews in South Carolina, building on the blog of the same title.
