HC Staff During Midlands Gives 2018

On May 7, 2019, over 400 non-profits in the Midlands will come together for the sixth annual Midlands Gives, an annual online giving event hosted by the Central Carolina Community Foundation. Historic Columbia has participated in Midlands Gives since its inception in 2014, and is proud to be part of Midlands Gives once again this year.

Last year on Midlands Gives, HC raised over $21,000 from 225 donations to support our mission to support and protect the historical and cultural heritage of Columbia and Richland County through advocacy, education and preservation. The generous support of our donors allows us to manage four historic house museums (the Robert Mills House, the Hampton-Preston Mansion, the Woodrow Wilson Family Home, and the Mann-Simons Site), along with their beautiful gardens. In addition, Historic Columbia is an advocate for historic preservation in our community, provides numerous programs and events throughout the year, and offers history lessons both inside and outside of the classroom.

With all of these projects and initiatives, our staff is always hard at work! This year on Midlands Gives, we invite you to follow along on our social media as our Executive Director, Robin Waites, takes on the role of Undercover Boss. Get a sneak peek into the work that Historic Columbia staff members are doing on as Robin joins them (in disguise, of course) in their daily routine!

We hope you will consider supporting Historic Columbia with a donation on MidlandsGives.org on May 7th. To make your dollars go further, if you donate between 7 and 7:59 a.m., you can help us to achieve our goal of winning a $2,500 power hour prize to add to our total. Thank you in advance for supporting our organization!
