WWI Armistice Day Dollar Admission

Woodrow Wilson Family Home : 1705 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Historic Columbia will offer $1 admission to the Woodrow Wilson Family Home from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 11th in honor of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Admission is free for veterans.

Governor McMaster has officially declared November 11th 2018 as World War I Remembrance Day in South Carolina. Armistice Day, which coincides with Veterans Day, is commemorated every year on November 11 to mark the cessation of hostilities signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France. Guests will have the opportunity to see “11th Hour, 11th Day, 11th Month,” a temporary display at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home, which features an original WWI uniform, a painted Army helmet and trench art among other artifacts.  The house will be open for guests to tour at their own pace, and guides will be available to answer any questions.

  • Admission

Admission is $1, or free for veterans, and can be purchased at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home or the Gift Shop at Robert Mills between 1 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11.
