Meet at the South Carolina Monument to the Women of the Confederacy, located at the southern border of the State House grounds : 1100 Gervais St., Columbia, SC 29208

Women in Columbia have historically been trailblazers in the fields of health, education, economic opportunity, safety and freedom from violence, civic engagement, and our city’s arts and culture—yet just 4% of monuments celebrate their achievements. Join Katharine Allen, Historic Columbia’s Director of Research, on a guided tour of sites associated with this year’s 12 Columbia City of Women nominees that highlights how their work has shaped our shared history and physical landscape.

This tour lasts 90 minutes. Participants will meet at the State House grounds before embarking on a bus tour around the city. There will be one step-off location. The tour ends at the front of the State House.
