Virtual Attendance

For the third year in a row, Cola Gives and Historic Columbia are partnering to host an On the Table conversation through the Central Carolina Community Foundation. On the Table brings people together to build personal connections, share ideas, and inspire action. The idea is that when we come together, we have the power to make our communities stronger. This year’s conversation will be hosted virtually (through Zoom) on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Conversations on Creating Inclusive and Equitable Communities
Multiple issues are confronting us in this day and time; e.g. racism, sexism, economic disparities, social injustices, and much more. There is a need for intentional conversations to find common ground on developing solutions that will connect our diverse communities, inspire understanding, and promote dignity and respect for all. Join us for a panel conversation with community leaders and live Q&A.

Join us for a panel discussion between:
Matthew Butler, Harriet Hancock Center, Director of Operations

Cheryl Nail, Columbia Jewish Federation, Community Relations Director

Dr. Mercedes Lopez Rodriquez, Chair of the Latino Faculty Caucus, University of South Carolina

Kimberly Eison Simmons, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Anthropology and African American Studies and Interim Director, Institute for African American Research, University of South Carolina

Panelists will give a brief overview of their community work and then participants on the call will be invited to ask questions in a live Q&A format.
