Book Signing with Lydia Brandt | The South Carolina State House Grounds: A Guidebook

Register

Virtual Attendance via Zoom

The South Carolina State House Grounds, the first comprehensive narrative of this important site at the heart of the Palmetto State, details the history of the state capitol and its setting —including the national, state and local histories enshrined in its monuments — from 1787 to the present.

Dr. Lydia Mattice Brandt, associate professor of architectural history and art history at the University of South Carolina (UofSC), chronicles the events that occurred in and around its buildings, the stories of the people memorialized in the grounds’ monuments and the histories of the monuments themselves. This virtual book signing will be held online via Zoom. Upon registering, participants will receive an email with the web link to the program 24 hours prior to the event. The South Carolina State House Grounds can be purchased at ShopHistoricColumbia.com in advance of the event.
