Free Tours of the Museum of the Reconstruction Era in honor of SC Humanities
Museum of the Reconstruction Era at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home : 1705 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201
In honor of South Carolina Humanities' 50th anniversary, Historic Columbia will be offering free tours of the Museum of the Reconstruction Era on March 11 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. South Carolina Humanities has been a prominent funder of HC initiatives that explore our shared, complex past, including the symposium “Reconstruction’s Legacy,” the development of tours and a podcast documenting the South Carolina State House Monuments, and the LGBTQ Columbia History Initiative.
The Museum of the Reconstruction Era is the nation's only museum dedicated to interpreting the post-Civil War Reconstruction period and South Carolina's only remaining presidential site.
Visitors do not need to check in at the Robert Mills Gift Shop but may go directly to the museum at 1705 Hampton Street.
