1 — 4 p.m.

Free Sundays Presented by Richland County | Museum of the Reconstruction Era

Museum of the Reconstruction Era at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home : 1705 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201

The third Sunday of the month, residents of Richland and Lexington counties are invited to tour of one of Historic Columbia’s house museums for FREE thanks to Richland County, with support from HC Board Liaison, Councilwoman Gretchen Barron! This month, visit the Museum of the Reconstruction Era.

The Museum of the Reconstruction Era at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home is the nation's only museum dedicated to showcasing the post-Civil War Reconstruction period and is housed in South Carolina's only remaining presidential site. Through a multifaceted interpretation, The Museum of the Reconstruction Era interprets Columbia’s late 19th-century history in order to dispel the myths of Reconstruction that are so prevalent in society today.

Self-guided tours are offered from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Admission is free for HC members and residents of Richland and Lexington counties. For all other visitors, admission to the Museum of the Reconstruction Era or other properties is $12 for adults and $8 for youth and may be paid on site. Space is limited so guests will be registered on a first come first serve basis. The house will be open for guests to tour at their own pace, and guides will be available to answer any questions.

  • Tickets

Admission is FREE for Richland and Lexington County residents with a valid I.D.

Visit the museum between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
