Members-Only Early Access: Spring Plant Sale

Hampton-Preston Mansion : 1615 Blanding St., Columbia, SC 29201

Join us in the lush gardens of the Hampton-Preston Mansion for the 2024 Spring Plant Sale! One of two plant sales Historic Columbia holds every year, attendees will be able to purchase and learn about a wide array of plants propagated from the Living Collections across all of our historic sites, from herbaceous plants to woody perennials to evergreens. All of the selections offered are integral to the stories we tell on our sites, and most are rare or not offered elsewhere.

New this season! Historic Columbia is excited to offer a variety of heirloom edibles and annuals in addition to plants propagated from HC's Living Collections.

Become a Historic Columbia member at any level to gain admission to this exclusive members-only preview sale from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024. 

The sale will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, and 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

  • Parking

    All three entrances to the Hampton-Preston Mansion grounds will be open. Free street parking is available on the surrounding streets. Handicapped parking is available next to the Boyd Horticultural Center; this lot is accessible via the Laurel Street gate. 

    After purchasing, guests may use the Laurel Street gate to load plants into vehicles. 

  • Weather

    In the event of inclement weather, the plant sale will take place in the Boyd Horticultural Center, located on the grounds of the Hampton-Preston Mansion.
