Patrick Cleary

Fellow Palladium Member:

Thank you for your support of Historic Columbia through your Palladium membership contribution. This year, more than ever, your support helps further the mission of Historic Columbia through educational, social and fundraising initiatives.

I am very pleased to serve as the President of Palladium this year, leading a fantastic Board of volunteers dedicated to Historic Columbia. I wanted to send you this letter to highlight two upcoming Palladium events this month, our goals for 2020-2021, and invite your comments on how we can better serve you, our members.

This Friday, December 11, 2020, we are hosting a socially-distanced Tacky Sweater Happy Hour from 5 – 6 p.m. at the Hampton-Preston Mansion and Gardens. This Happy Hour is free for all Palladium members. This Happy Hour will be followed by Historic Columbia’s Movies in the Gardens: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. You can register for the Happy Hour here and contact Charles Calhoun to get on the waitlist for movie tickets.

On December 15, we are hosting a Renovation Rodeo in the Waverly Neighborhood. This will be our first visit to this historic and influential African American community. During Renovation Rodeos, we take guests on tours of old homes and buildings in the Columbia area that have been refurbished and renovated while staying true to the roots and history of the house. To use your free Palladium registration, please visit the event listing. We will hold three more Renovation Rodeos by October 2021 – your membership ensures you can attend any or all of them for free.

We encourage you to follow and support Palladium, including on social media. You will see us active with updates on members, events, and ways in which you can get more involved. And should you be looking for a way to become more financially involved in Palladium and Historic Columbia, please consider making a donation to the 2020-21 Annual Fund and support Historic Columbia’s efforts to modernize their education efforts to meet the challenges of today.

Virtual Education

Finally, we want to hear from you – what can we do to enhance the value of your membership? Are there historical sites in Columbia you want to know more about? Do you want to know more about the Historic Columbia houses and gardens? We welcome your comments – please call me at 803.726.7492 or email me at patrick.cleary@bowmanandbrooke.com.

Sincerely,
Patrick Cleary President - Palladium
