1301 Laurel Street
Post-World War II development in downtown Columbia often resulted in demolishing or considerably changing earlier buildings, including the 1880-cottage at 1301 Laurel Street that once housed a variety of occupants, including a seamstress, police officer, and railway clerk. This commercial building, designed in the Streamline Moderne style and completed in April 1948, features horizontal lines and incorporates modern building materials that reflect the excitement of the machine age. Before accommodating Print House Plus, 1301 Laurel Street was home to Home Finance Company and Fred H. Medlin's used car business.
