Please join Historic Columbia for our Annual Meeting. Following a brief presentation about the state of Historic Columbia, members can mingle over light refreshments in My Mother’s Garden and enjoy exclusive member tours of the recently opened Robert Mills Warming Kitchen exhibit and Welcome Center.

  • Parking

    A small gravel parking lot is located adjacent to the Robert Mills Carriage House and is accessible via Henderson Street. There is ample free street parking surrounding the Robert Mills House. 

  • Accessibility

    The Carriage House is accessible to wheelchairs and those with mobility issues; the grounds and gardens have gravel paths. 

  • Inclement Weather

    The Annual Meeting will take place rain or shine.

Heat and Hardship

Visit Historic Columbia’s New “Test Kitchen”

Historic Columbia is proud to announce the opening of Heat & Hardship: The Hidden Labor of Enslaved Cooks, which will serve as our “test case” for this interpretive plan. This exhibit reimagines one of the Robert Mills House’s most popular spaces, the warming kitchen, through the installation of hands-on activities that incorporate touch and smell.
