Willie Wells and the Blue Ridge Mountain Grass

Like so many events this year, Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ will look a little different, but will feature the key elements of the event that you enjoy! Tune in on Facebook on October 15, 5-6 p.m., for a one-hour online special featuring bluegrass music, a BBQ discussion, cocktail demonstrations, and auction items.

Participation in the silent auction and Facebook Live video are FREE. All proceeds will support Historic Columbia.

"Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ is typically our biggest fundraiser each year," explains Carter Davis, Co-Chair for Palladium's Silent Auction. "It serves as a reminder that our dynamic group of professionals can party just as hard as we work to preserve Richland County's historic and cultural heritage. The event is truly special because of the hundreds of Midlands residents that this event allows us to share HC's mission with each year. You may not have a clear understanding of what we do, but you have certainly heard of Bluegrass, Bidding, and BBQ."

Here's the lineup for this year's event!

Bluegrass

Don’t miss an online performance by Willie Wells and the Blue Ridge Mountain Grass! Founded by Willie Wells, the son of the late Bill Wells who owned Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin Parlor, the band focuses on a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. You can listen to the band’s albums on Spotify.

Bidding

This year’s silent auction is full of just as many great items and gifts! Bid on great vacation opportunities, including getaways to Charleston, Beauford, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Florida, Cabo San Lucas, Belize, St. Thomas and more. Plus, Columbia Metropolitan Airport pitched in two tickets to any of their non-stop destinations! Enjoy a staycation with local hotel stays, a Saluda River Adventure, restaurant gift cards, and shopping excursions. We’re also auctioning off a variety of HC opportunities, like Historic Columbia plants, heirloom caretaking workshop, exclusive tour of the updated Modjeska Monteith Simkins House, lunch with our executive director, Robin Waites. Artwork, alcohol, lessons, gift items and more round out stellar options to make your own or give to friends and family this upcoming holiday season. You can view items now and bidding opens October 13. Just register on Bidr so you can text your bids until 10 p.m. on October 15!
