Behind-the-Scenes Tour | 1649 Main Street

Sold Out!

Hendrix : 1649 Main Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Go Behind-The-Scenes with Historic Columbia, Garvin Design Group and Hood Construction at 1649 Main Street and get a sneak peek of what’s to come for the site!

1649 Main Street has a fascinating history, built as a grocery store prior to 1872 and later renovated as a hardware store and then as Hennessey’s restaurant. Today, it is being transformed and will have new life as Hendrix, a restaurant set to open fall 2018. Its name references E.T. Hendrix, the building’s historic grocer who occupied the space from 1906 to 1926. Hendrix restaurant will offer chef-inspired dining in the building’s upper levels, including rooftop seating.

Guests will learn about the history of the building as well as the renovation process on this tour. Food will be provided by Hendrix, and beer and wine will also be served. Space is limited—registration required.
