Heathwood Walking Tour

Tour begins at Heathwood Park : 800 Abelia Road, Columbia, SC 29205

Join Historic Columbia for a stroll through the Heathwood neighborhood. Established by Moses Chappell Heath in 1914 and further developed by his son-in-law, Burwell Deas Manning, Sr., in the 1940s, Heathwood boasts architecturally distinct residences with mature landscapes. Participants will learn about different architectural forms and some of the notable residents who once called this neighborhood home. The tour will last approximately 75 minutes and begin and end at Heathwood Park. 

  • Tickets

    Only 20 tickets are available for each Walking Tour. Online ticket sales end on Friday, February 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.

    HC: $5 
    Non-member: $10 
    Youth: Under 17 free

  • Parking

    Free street parking is available on the streets surrounding Heathwood Park. Please be mindful of residents’ driveways. This tour includes standing and walking several blocks on neighborhood sidewalks. 

  • Refunds

    This tour will take place rain or shine. However, if there are thunderstorms in the neighborhood the tour will be canceled, and you will be contacted to receive either a refund or a ticket for a future Walking Tour. If the tour proceeds as planned, no refunds will be offered.
