Robert Mills Carriage House : 1616 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Learn more about Historic Columbia’s research initiatives at the monthly Research Roundtable programs.

Each month, staff will share their latest discoveries and lingering questions as they uncover the history of our community. From dangerous ferries carrying horses, pigs, and cattle to enslaved boatmen navigating flatboats, the Congaree River was a busy place that transported goods and people both up and downstream. Join Katharine Allen, research and archives manager, for a discussion on new research into the role the river played in the lives of antebellum South Carolinians.

Mary's Arepas will also be stationed outside Robert Mills House from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. selling authentic Latin cuisine. Plus, Scoppy Doo will be selling cold, sweet treats!  Learn more.
