Established in 1893, Old Shandon is listed as a Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places and is protected as an architectural conservation district by the City of Columbia. Bounded by Waccamaw Avenue, Devine, Shandon and King streets, this neighborhood is known as Columbia’s first suburb and features a variety of architectural styles.
